Brief Biographical Sketch of the Board of Examiners:
Members of the current Board of Examiners were appointed by Mother Theresa E. Bolden, Jurisdictional Supervisor, in December 2005. Mother Ruth Wright, Assistant Jurisdictional Supervisor, outlined the responsibilities of a Board and the responsibilities of the Board of Examiners as written in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. Official Handbook for the Department of Women.
The Board members began prayerfully meeting to identify the needed areas of training. Subjects and resource materials were identified. Each board member created her class materials. Location, dates, and times were selected and commuicated to those Aspiring Missionaries that were recommended by her Pastorto receive Deaconness Missionary license.
The Aspiring Missionaries attended their classes and received training over a six week time frame. The anointing of God continues to permeate the training sessions during the prayer times, encouraging all in attendance. A custom exam is created each year based on that year's course materials. The Aspiring Missionaries shout the victory when receiving the good news they have passed their exam. They receive their Deaconness Missionary license and are capped by the Jurisdictional Supervisor, Mother Theresa E. Bolden, at the official Licensing Ceremony during the annual Jurisdictional Women's Convention.
The Board of Examiners work together in a spirit of unity, cooperation, and love. Their interest is to be used of God to train Aspiring Missionaries so they can return and bless their local Churches.
The tentative schedule for each year is:
February - Orientation during Women's Department Auxiliary & Unit Training
March / April - Training Sessions
May - Review and Testing
June / July - Receive habits, ceremony rehearsal
August - Licensing ceremony
All Aspiring Missionaries must be recommended by her Pastor for licensing. Please contact any Board member for additional information.
