Mother Theresa E. Bolden Supervisor of the Women's Department

Mother Theresa E. Bolden was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, raised in Alton, Illinois.  She was saved at the age of 13 in Alton, Illinois under the leadership of Elder Monroe.

Mother Bolden moved to St. Louis, Missouri after her marriage to Elder Varney Bolden, who was her spouse for 59 years until his death.  Five childern, four daughters and one son were born to this union.

In her earlier years, Mother Bolden worked as a Husband-Wife Evangelist Team and traveled to many places.  After her children were born, she was involved in the following activities:

• Vacation Bible School Assistant with Mother Goodwin; later she became the Director
• Director of the Junior Jubilee Choir and Jubilee Specials of Kennerly Temple COGIC
• Director of Kennerly Temple's Senior and Radio Choirs
• President of Marshall School and Summer High School PTA
• President of the Turner District Parent Congress
• President of the Interdenominational Council of Minister's Wives and Widows of the St. Louis Area
• President of the Minister's Wives and Widows Council of Eastern Missouri of the Churches of God in Christ
• President of the St. Louis Council of Parent Teachers Association of the St. Louis Public Schools
• Received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education at Harris Stowe Teacher's College in 1974
• Taught at Ashland Elementary School
• Received a Doctorate of Divinity at Virginia College of the Bible, Inc. in 1984
• President of the Board of Trustees for Channel 9 (Educational TV) for 3 years and on the State Board of Educational TV
• Served with the St. Louis City and County on the White House Conference on Education
• Worked with the Conference on Christians and Jews
• Served as the only Woman on a Board made up of men to choose the Director of Community Schools
• Spoke in Jefferson City at the House of Legislation for the Community Colleges, such as Forest Park College
• She is now in her 25th year as the State Supervisor of Women for Eastern Missouri - First Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.
